PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO SEE OUR ALBUMS....

HI! This is Karin and Shane & we love taking pictures of anything that will stay still long enough for us to snap it.

Karin is a Navy veteran and you will find lots of photos in her "Military" album of her days serving from 1986-1992. She was stationed at squadron VFA-125 at Naval Air Station Lemoore, CA, and served nearly two years Active Reserve time at NAS Cecil Field, Jacksonville, FL during Desert Storm/Desert Shield.

FROM KARIN: When I was active duty, women could not be stationed on combat ships. I was an aviation electrician on F/A-18 Hornets and my squadron was a training squadron for new pilots. We went out on carriers about every other month or so, so pilots could qualify landing and launching from aircraft carriers - and this is where I took many of my carrier shots.

As an enlisted person, our squadron had a program for people to become back-seat qualified - to ride in the back seat of the F/A-18-B & D models (2-seater trainers). I went through the program successfully (water survivial, classroom, swimming, ejection seat, etc.) and was able to ride in the back seat of our Hornets as my shift work permitted - and when a pilot was cool enough to let me tag along. All told, I rode about 8 times and was allowed to take my 35mm film camera with me. The shots I have posted of airborne jets I took myself. It was quite an honor and I cherish those memories. I hope you enjoy these shots too--enjoy them well enough to buy them I hope!

Our other albums include pictures that we've just taken on instinct - from a view that was unusual, just like we look at the world. We also like to take photos that represent a dichotomy - like our daffodil in the snow shot in our "Mother Nature" album. Most of our sunset photos were taken on Anna Maria Island, FL (on the Gulf coast) in 2003 & 2004 when we lived there... before FOUR hurricanes of 2004 ran us off for good.

Shane and I are semi-starving artists - she wants to be a paid photographer, and he is an artist, painter, singer/songwriter and plays the guitar. Shane is also a former Marine (Semper Fi)! His dream for many years has been to take photos out in the field, upload via satellite, and earn a living that way. You know those shots taken atop mountains, or of the alligator wrestler - we want to be those photographers - wherever our adventures take us!

The sunset pictures are ethereal and real - taken mostly with our first digital camera: a Kodak Easy Share (which we'll be selling on e-Bay after Christmas once Santa brings me some new equipment!). The sunset and island photos are not enhanced or edited in any way, other than some cropping. Shane took most of the Anna Maria Island shots.

Thanks for looking at our albums and we hope to see that "Order Prints" or "Order Photo Gifts" buttons clicked! We use a digital Olympus Camedia D-580 Zoom, and still fall back on our simple Kodak Easy Share CX6330 at times. If you buy some of our work, we can step up the equipment!
